Adult Structural Heart Disease

Management of adult structural heart disease (ASHD) at Regional Heart Specialists is focused on adult patients with either congenital or acquired structural heart disease. Dr. Flaherty is an expert at the diagnosis and treatment of adult congenital and acquired anomalies of the heart. Dr. Flaherty offers consultative and diagnostic services to patients and their families, and provides a comprehensive and definitive treatment plan. Two treatment strategies exist for treatment of congenital and acquired cardiac structural defects, namely, surgical (open-chest/heart) and transcatheter (percutaneous or catheter-based). If a transcatheter strategy is chosen, Dr. Flaherty is able to address disorders of the heart with minimally invasive methods.
